Exhibition in the Weissenhofwerkstatt in the Mies van der Rohe House<\/strong><\/p>\n October 16th – December 19th, 2021\u00a0 EXTENDED UNTIL JANUARY 9th, 2022 Opening hours: <\/strong> Visit the exhibition: 2G plus-rule (vaccinated\/recovered plus certified rapid test) Excluded: people with a booster vaccination or vaccinated\/recovered people who received a second vaccination\/infection less than 3 months ago). What was it like to grow up in an early Modernist villa or housing estate? Did living in such settings change children\u2019s attitudes? Did these radical environments shape the way they looked at domestic space later in life? Were children in Modernist homes self-conscious about their avant-garde surroundings, or proud of them?<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n To answer these questions, this exhibition looks directly to a group of four individuals who were as children inhabitants of iconic Modernist homes and housing. Linking the spaces of Modern domesticity with the recollections of those who lived there provides a refreshing perspective on icons of Modernism in architecture.<\/span><\/p>\n Rolf Fassbaender<\/strong> lived from 1927 to 1939 in one of the J.J.P. Oud designed row houses in the Weissenhofsiedlung Stuttgart. \n<\/span>Ernst Tugendhat<\/strong> spent from 1930 eight years in Mies van der Rohe’s Tugendhat house in Brno.
\nHelga Zumpfe<\/strong>, n\u00e9e Schminke, lived for 15 years in the Schminke house in L\u00f6bau, built by Hans Scharoun.
\nGis\u00e8le Moreau<\/strong> moved to Le Corbusier’s Unit\u00e9 d\u2019Habitation in Marseille in 1953 and still lives there today.<\/span><\/p>\n
