In this talk, Dr. Khawas explores Le Corbusier<\/span><\/span>\u2019s vision for Chandigarh as a modernist city, its evolution into a UNESCO<\/span><\/span> World Heritage site, and the role of Pierre Jeanneret<\/span><\/span> and the Indian team in shaping the city\u2019s identity. The session also reflects on how this architectural legacy is experienced today through immersive architectural tours across India.<\/p>\n

UNESCO World Heritage Day 2026<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

On 7 June 2026, UNESCO World Heritage Day will be held under the theme \u2018Together for Peace and Understanding\u2019.<\/p>\n

In Germany, a total of 55 cultural and natural heritage sites are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. What these sites have in common is their outstanding universal value \u2013 that is, their special significance not only for national or local communities, but for all of humanity.<\/p>\n
