Garden renovation at Le Corbusier House
late June 2026
Dear museum visitors,
The renovation work on the exterior façades of the semi-detached house has now been completed.
Work on the redesign of the gardens will begin in early June and is expected to continue until the end of June 2026.
As part of these measures, the lawns and the perennial slope will be completely renewed. The aim is to make Le Corbusier’s two houses more accessible as a unified ensemble once again. The planting on the roof terrace of the semi-detached house will also be revised: individual older plants, including lavender beds, will be replaced, whilst some of the existing planting will be retained. One of the key principles guiding the planning is to align the design more closely with the historic appearance of 1927. At the same time, the works are intended to help better address the specific site conditions – in particular the dry climate, slope stability and increasing heat – in the long term, whilst reducing the need for irrigation.
During the construction period, there may be occasional disruptions in the outdoor areas. However, the museum will remain open.
Thank you for your understanding! We look forward to your visit.
